In traditional theory, the 4th degree (F natural) is a crucial scale tone, but it introduces a major-third resolving pull down to E. Under a gravitational/LCC reading, the F# (sharp 11th) preserves the symmetry of perfect fifths, establishing C Lydian as the true stable acoustic center of C.

Tonal Gravity: Stable notes are close in the fifths chain (e.g. G, D). Notes farther away (e.g. F, Db) exert higher tension.
